Great is Thy Faithfulness

Have you ever felt like God has forsaken you? In your heart you know that’s impossible, but your mind is all over the place from the storm you feel you’re drowning in. You’re weary from trying to stay afloat when whispers of “God doesn’t love you as much as He does them” rush over you.

You pause, shocked that such a thought even spawned. But then, what if it’s true?

You start to pray, but the Accuser thunders, “Why bother? He isn’t listening anyway.”

You’re heart sinks and all logic seems to erode. You know the truth, but the “what ifs” cloud your confidence.

In a final effort to find peace, you open the scriptures. Your hope is gradually restored as the Holy Spirit reminds you through tangible pages that God is always faithful. He has been right beside you through the storm. He knows your heart aches; He’s seen the tears and sleepless nights. He’s been there too.

In His still, small voice, He speaks peace as you wrestle with Him.

Finally, day breaks, the waters still, and your faith is restored. You have a new understanding of His faithfulness. He has allowed you to wrestle with Him for your benefit. Morning is come and you feel closer to the Master than you ever knew possible. Your storm is not over, but you are confident that He is with you no matter how high the waves.

This is the hope you carry with you through the rest of the storm.

God’s Faithfulness On Display

Lamentations 3:22-25

[It is of] the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
[They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.
The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD [is] good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
